Create-a-Smoothie

Yogurt and fruit for breakfast and lunch can be credited in smoothies prepared by program operators to meet meal pattern requirements. Fruit used in smoothies is credited as fruit juice. School Breakfast: Smoothies as Meat Alternatives

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) has modified its policy on yogurt in smoothies, which may help improve school breakfast participation and overall dairy consumption. The agency has announced that yogurt in smoothies at breakfast can be credited as a meat alternate.
